About Me

  • A trained and professional copy editor, proofreader, and indexer with a special interest in academic and scholarly writing from all disciplines and of varying lengths: dissertations, capstone projects, monographs, program proposals, reports.

  • I also offer editorial services for other works of non-fiction—including exhibit catalogues, food and wine magazines, personal memoirs—and have worked extensively with traditional publishers of fiction for young adults and children—including graphic novels.

  • Professional member of Editors Canada since 2009.

  • Strengths include copy editing and proofreading your text with precision and style, suiting text to the needs of the reading audience, liaising between writers who deeply understand the topic and a reading audience who is (in varying degrees) less familiar with it.

  • Ongoing professional development includes studies in plain language principles, conscious language, instructional design.

  • I hold an Honours BA and an MA in English literature from Simon Fraser University, with a focus on marginalized identities, diasporic cultures, and academic writing instruction.

  • Currently located in Vancouver, British Columbia, though I've also lived in London, Toronto, Los Angeles, and a second city named London that is nowhere in particular.
